This is a story about birth and nature. It is an attempt to simulate
how life can spring from what appears to be dead.
Who are the characters?
The main character is a stone. The stone is the inanimate object laying in the lifeless field that seems to be only occupied by dark brown mud and a dead twig from a tree.
What will evolve around the stone is grass, flowers and a tree. The camera will focus on the stone.
In the foreground, the predominate character will be grass, the middle ground will have grass and flowers. The background will be a small tree which evolves from the ?lifeless? twig.
With whom is the conflict?
The conflict is understated, but it is animate versus inanimate object.
Though nature, is normally seen as beautiful, the lifeless plane of mud
sprinkled with a stone and twig might evoke sadness because of the lack of
life. The stone in the scene is based off of this picture which has some
beautiful shiny textures. If this were a small rock, it might be in a
collection. In the beginning the rock is the only thing that might be
perceived as beautiful in the scene. In the end, will the rock still stand
out, or will it become unnoticed by the birth of the animate objects?
How many lights and light stands are needed to illuminate the locale?
There will be a directional light which illuminates the entire scene. I would like for a spot light to also illuminate the rock. As you can see in the picture, I will be focusing in the textures of the rock.
When are a long medium and close up shot required?
A close up shot will start the sequence, focused mainly on the rock?this should only last for 1 second. (30 frames), enough to appreciate the textures and reflections the light has generated. I then intend to zoom out for 2 seconds on the plane. The rest are long shots as the grass, flowers and tree gradually grow and paint the canvas. The scene is estimated to be 15 seconds long or .450 frames.
What colors dominate each scene?
In the beginning dark earth tones and greys dominate the scene.
In the end green and yellow with sprinkling of red and violet.

Timeframe:
