A-MEEK-MAZING
Kevin Joel Meek
MAYA CAVE MAZE

In this interactive
design idea I wanted to create a seven level environment that would lead you to
a final level with a robot on top of it.
The reasons for having these different levels are because I want the
person who is interacting with this environment to have a challenge and the
challenge is to get to the top of the maze. When you get to the top of the maze you will not have to
beat the robot, MEEK to claim victory because you just beat the seven levels
and that is the whole idea behind fighting the robot. You are fighting to get to the top where the robot is safe
from you. Once you enter his floor
he will bow before you, for you have what it takes to beat the MEEK mind power.

Level
8 The robot,
MEEK waits as you challenge his mind power.

Level
7 In this scene I wanted to make the level
scarier than all of the others because it signals to the gamer that the maze is almost
over, just watch out for the pit falls.
HINT HINT.

Level
6 This level can be easy if you make the right
moves on level 5.

Level
5 In this level it might be a good idea to pay
attention because you could bypass an entire level. (WARP)

Level
4 In my opinion I found this level to be
extremely confusing and I made it.
Just be patient and remember where you came from, IF YOU CAN.

Level
3 This level has a glass floor so you can see the
level below you just incase you happen to slip, so watch your step. Also be careful along the walls because
there are places where the wall does not exist and it will start you back at
the begining HINT HINT

Level
3 This is just another angle to view level 3 it
may help direct you to where you need to go.

Level
2 This level should be a quick breeze due to the
textures I tried to make them easy on the gamerŐs eyes because it is still
early in the maze. I saved the
best for last.

Level
1 The first level is all about finding your way
into the maze. If one way doesnŐt
work you could always enter from a different route. HINT HINT

Starting
Point This is the point where you will begin your
adventure to get to the top and prove to the robot that you have what it takes
to master MEEK. I placed a picture
up of what the 7th level looks like so you can see how hard it gets
and what kind of a ride you are in for.
GOOD LUCK and may the best player win. For fun you should try timing yourself so the next time you
can try and beat your old time.
Explanation Any maze I have ever tried has been on a 2D piece of paper. For this environment I wanted to go further
not only creating a 3D maze, but a maze that was eight stories tall. I have always wanted to create a game where one could
challenge ones selves in an environment that I created. This project gives others the
opportunity to walk around inside my head and really get a sense of how I
think. I designed it all from
scratch by using polygon primitives and extruding and deleting faces. I added textures to the maze, which I
created in Photoshop. I had
a really fun time designing this maze and anyone who is up to a challenge, make
one better than mine.
