Above is a final render of
an interactive CAVEtm environment for T340. The first
thing that I noticed about the CAVE when I entered it was the fact that there
is no ceiling in it but there is a floor. The CAVE is extremely amazing in
creating a sensation of space, but since there is no ceiling, you cannot
look up into the sky. I also noticed that nearly everyone who navigates the
Cave for the first time immediately goes to the highest point in the environment
and jumps off the top to see how it will feel to fall. It's actually pretty
neat the simulation of height is amazing. This is where I got the idea for
a tree house. I once fell out of a tree house when I was younger. It wasn't
neat. So I created the illusion of being high up with the option of jumping
off of the edges.

Here
are some of the textures that I created for the project. I mostly experimented
with photo texturing. All of the textures I created from scratch using a
digital camera, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.

In order to navigate the CAVE
simulator you use a wand control to walk around the various areas of the
scene. The only place that you use the wand trigger is inside of the bee
hive. By pressing the middle button you will be transported back to the nexus
which links all of the T30 projects.
